I haven’t written a post in a long time. I really have no excuse other than trying to keep up with uni work, doing assessments and in my spare time drinking  socialising.

I did however find a lovely cafe to catch up on readings. I was having a wander up Degraves street looking for  quiet spot with outdoor seating so I could enjoy the quickly sporadic Melbourne sun. Degraves street however is super busy and bustling its a fantastic atmosphere and I love spending time exploring the wonderful cafes and bars but I took a turn up Manchester lane and came across Kuaizi bar. it’s a quiet little bar/restaurant/coffee place I took a seat outside and orders a flat white. As my very first flat white ever It was good! (skinny capp no chocolate is my usual) At $4 for a large it’s cheaper than the cafe in the university and has fantastic atmosphere. I would like to come back for some food and a cocktail they look pretty exciting and reasonably priced.

 

Grampians trip

So another trip with RMIT Recreation. We went to the Grampians and saw the beautiful sights! The Grampians are named after the Scottish Grampians because when discovered its said that they looked similar! I have to say that Scotland dose have some wonderful scenery but it is not similar at all! The trees the lakes the waterfalls here are fantastic but totally different to Scottish scenery. I do however have to take more day trips outside of Glasgow and see the sights home has too offer.

The mountain ranges had some lakes nestled in. Something i’ve never knew could happen.

We saw one of the waterfalls that where abasloutly tranquil! but it was half a kilometre of stairs all the way back up to the mini bus a good workout but I was totally unready for it.

Our last stop was a 2k easy hike/walk to the top of one of the mountains but unfortunately at the top it was way too foggy to see the view so no photo 😦 but I liked the red sand path (so Australian!) and rocky dry lake on the way up!

 AAnd finally on our last stop we saw some wild kangaroos that ate the grass right out of your hand. it was my favroite part of the trip I never thought I’d get the chance to pet a kangaroo never mind feed a wild one! It was super lucky!!

The Grampians was a really good trip but I would like to go again when its sunny day for a whole weekend because there is so much to see and do. If you love to hike and walk then it is the trip for you. There is also so many Insta opportunities!

Great ocean road

I went on another trip with Rmit recreation this week and again it was only $60 so super cheap!

I wasn’t sure what to expect I’ve done a little bit of the great ocean road when I was younger with family and I thought it was a big boring beach. Essentially it is a very long beach but it is abasloutly gorgeous! And when you have a proper tour guide it just makes the whole experience so much more with a little bit of history and trivia.

So here we go! the first stop:

 

Then we drove on hoping to see some koalas 🐨

We saw some of these lovley guys and if you bought bird seed from the little shop they would eat right out of your hand! So Obvsisly that calls for animal selfies

And we where lucky enough to see some koalas this one was super close.

There’s was a nice beach here too but I’m not posting all the beach photos I have because there is a lot.

I’m going to talk about the best ice team I’ve ever had in my life from our next stop

(It was a lot bigger) Dooleys ice cream Apollo bay was honestly hevan. I got honeycomb chocolate but there was a whole load of flavours including vegimite which I heard is quite good. I’ve had marmite chocolate in the past so it might be similar.

Next up we went on a little rainforest walk and learned about some trees Austraila is fascinating with the amount of different climates in one area.

This stop was the 12 appostils (there’s only 8)  but these where my favourite views of the day just look at the fantastic colours

Then we went down to Loch ard gorge where there was a famous shipwreck in 1878 the ship was called Loch ard funnily enough

But this was just again a beautifull beach the colour of the water was fantastic

Last stop of the day was our tour guides secret spot where you have to walk up steps for about 5 miniotes to get to a view of the whole 12 apostles and other sights we passed

Because of the time of day and my old iPhone you can’t see much but it would be a great spot to come up to at sunset with a glass of wine 😊

Wilsons prom

I visited Wilsons promontory this weekend and it was amazing! RMIT recreation had a trip planned and it was only $60 to attend. I met some great people, saw some amazing sights went on a couple of hikes, climbed Mt. Bishop and walked along the squeaky beach!! There is no words for the beauty of this place! even though it wasn’t a very clear day it was still so gorgeous we saw some wild kangaroos and emu but sadly no wallabies.

My advice is wear proper shoes! I wore cheap flats and totally destroyed my feet also I got my first mossy bites ouch and super bad sunburn even though it wasn’t sunny! Be more prepared than me please.

  

Wilsons Promontory is one of Victoria’s national parks. We got a tour guide that took us on walks to see the granite headlands, mountains, forests, the squeaky beach and bushwalking! Its amazing that the park has so many different landscapes in one place.

 Here’s some photos I really recommend a visit yourself. Its only a 2.5hr drive outside of Melbourne and Ive heard that its a great spot to camp. I would definitely go back, camping here sounds amazing! I can’t imagine what the sunsets would look like. If your a RMIT student here is the trips and tours website to go on some adventures yourself but even if your not with the uni the trips open up to non RMIT students sometimes so keep your eye out. #explormit
